Projects in Lebanon
Prior to lockdown CWR Education encouraged schools to establish links with refugee camps in Lebanon. One of the reasons for this was that several schools organised fundraising events such as non-uniform days.
These were successful and several thousands of pounds was raised – some of which was donated to charities in the UK and some to groups working in Lebanon.
Schools have also raised funds to pay for laptops for use in Lebanon and Chris visited camps to see them in use.
Salam LADC is the main project in Lebanon supported by several Cheltenham secondary schools.
Salam LADC focus on trying to ensure that refugee children have improved access to education.
If your school would like to develop links with projects in Lebanon, please contact CWR.
