We're having a film night! Meet us at the Bottle of Sauce for a showing of Casablanca, from 7 until 9.30pm.
Casablanca is a classic movie that is set right in the middle of a 20th century refugee crisis. Filmed at the height of the Second World War, and centring on a love triangle between European and American expats living in Morocco, Casablanca examines the conflict between love and personal responsibility.
The film even includes actual French refugees as supporting actors, and promotion for the film was based around media coverage of the Allied invasion of North Africa. It's a film that truly encapsulates time and place, and acts as a snapshot of a key social issue.
Entrance is free, but please buy drinks and food to support our venue. Donations to CWR are also greatly appreciated, and help us to carry out more work to support families coming to Cheltenham.
